A bit of our life, in words.

FINALLY! We’ve gone 6 days without Internet and they have finally come and fixed the problem. A lot has been happening lately! Let’s do a paragraph per thing:

We got a kitten! Named him Tiger. He’s an orange/white tabby with white feet. Him and Jasmine play a lot now. I have pictures too! He’s tiny! He was the smallest one of the litter (or what was left). He’s been farting quite a bit… more than Peaches ever did… which seemed to be never, lol. So hopefully a diet change will help. But he loves to cuddle on your lap. Right now him and Jasmine are both cuddled on my lap about to fall asleep.

We saw John Mayer live! Drove up to Dallas on Friday to see the concert with Jeremy and Josie. I loved it, except for the smell of weed once the concert started, which Pam especially hated. There’s was one girl right behind us who was really just almost passed out from it, and it’s like why pay so much money to come to a concert to only get so high that you aren’t listening or enjoying or remembering the concert?

We lost our Internet (and lots of other things)! We had a really bad thunderstorm last Wednesday morning, and one lightning strike hit REALLY close because it was REALLY loud. All our power went out. Next morning I went to check and the main breaker and 3 smaller ones were tripped, so I turned them back on and figured everything should be ok. Except mid-day came and it started getting a little hot in the house but the A/C wasn’t coming on. Long story short… one of the breakers was fried, a circuit board on the A/C was blown, the cable box outside was damaged, and my cable modem, router, and network card were all damaged. I’m guessing our house was actually hit, or almost hit. The home builders repaired the A/C and breakers. I bought a new network card and router and the cable guy just replaced our modem and fixed the cable box. Everything else is ok (including our HDTV, whew!). I bought a surge protector for the cable line, since that appears to be where the surge came through and ruined all my networking stuff (though, thank God, not my computer).

Business is good! I’ve signed up a new site, www.jmarcusholiday.com, and it’s coming along nicely, should be open in a few weeks. The toner site (it’s been forever) is coming together, they’re working on a bunch of database stuff right now. It’s actually up and running, but a redesign and rework is on its way. We also have another client that just signed up to do a big network of sites, that’s due in about 2 months. Things are moving, it’s a lot of work, but it’s truly a blessing! We went to Galveston! We went to Galveston a few weeks ago with my dad, Ashley, Matt, Philip and Amber. We took Jasmine and I have pictures from that somewhere I’ll have to post eventually.
