Goodbye 2007

It’s hard to believe another year has passed by. Life just keeps going faster and faster. I’d dare say 2007 has been one of the most eventful and life changing years ever. I got married, went on a cruise, bought a house, got a dog, a cat, a Mac; Pam has a new job; we have grass in our backyard; there’s a lot to be so thankful for! God is good.

I would make a New Year’s resolution, except I don’t like them. Why does it take a certain time of year (or in this case, a certain day) to make a resolution to better yourself? Shouldn’t we always be striving to better ourselves? Does that mean people who make resolutions aren’t always bettering themselves? Hmm… lol, just kidding. I say if there’s something you should/want to change, then do it. And if you fail, try it again, keep on pushing. How many New Year’s resolutions has anyone really kept anyways? Only to say “oh well, better luck next year”.

Anyway, God has been so wonderfully good to me this year, and I pray that I only improve myself continually and continue to receive these abundant blessings. And I pray that He does the same for everyone else.

By the way, The TV series The Office (US) is hilarious… I can’t wait for Season 4 to come out. Ashley had bought me 2 seasons for Christmas, even though I had seen almost all of them. So now I’m on to the deleted scenes, etc. Also, LOST season 3 is out I think. I need to get that and finish season 2.

UPDATE: So I started doing backups to DVD of things I don’t want to lose. Just in 2007 alone I have 2 DVDs worth of pictures, 9 DVDs worth of video (that’s only 1 month!), and I have no idea how many more worth of e-mails, files, etc. So right now I’m thinking, I don’t care all too much who wins the next format war (BluRay or HD-DVD), but someone win it already so it can get cheap and I can back things up on that.

Blu-Ray has won. There’s only one other company (I forget which one) that is still exclusive to HD DVD… but the rest are riding with Blu-ray.

    So, there’s your answer :-)

Oh, yes… HD DVD cancelled their event at CES (in Las Vegas) due to Warner Bros. announcement that they’re going exclusive to Blu-Ray.

Now the info I’m reading was posted on January 4th, and they say that Dreamworks, Paramount, and Universal are still with HD DVD… but I thought that two of those companies have dropped HD DVD support.

I don’t know, maybe I had my info wrong.

Either way, with Warner Bros. (distributors of The Matrix trilogy, which we WILL be getting) in the Blu-ray camp… well that’s a pretty massive blow.

  2. Kinney: Thanks for your comments and kind words. They’re much appreciated!

Molly: Well, if BluRay wins, ok… as long as there’s a standard. But don’t cry to me when Sony starts pulling licensing tricks and no one can ever afford it!
