New Office
So… I’m settled in to my new office. It’s really pretty nice; I’ll have to take some pictures. $400/month.
I got a 15.4″ MacBook Pro too. Decided to go ahead and take the plunge; and it will especially be nice since I don’t have a “workable” computer at home anymore (just the Gateway laptop). So now I have something to tote back and forth that I can use. I also had originally setup my Windows machine with 2 monitors in the new office. But now I’ve re-arranged things and think I’ll take that back home (which will be nice, my games are on there). I just really don’t use Windows much anymore, and if I really need it, I have it on the iMac that I can dual-boot to.
I bought a security cable also to lock down my 24″ iMac in case anyone decides to break in. We have an alarm system, but there’s no motion detector in my office. I need a wireless access point now though so I don’t have to have a cable for the laptop. I also bought a little rocking chair thing that sits on the floor, so I can lay comfortably with the laptop if I’m working on specific programming things.
I was going to buy a client chair(s) so people have something to sit in when they come visit/talk, but OfficeMax was out of them. So I moved in over the weekend, and already I have 3 new web sites to create. Two of the deals were from me being here in the office. People always want a website, but don’t know where to go or start or who to trust, etc. So when I’m here, it’s easy. Pretty cool! The other deal was from a client I visited with back in December.
I’m starting to see the “snobbery” that Apple geeks have about their computers. (Though I don’t want to be like that) The iMac is a pretty machine; and now I have the MacBook and it’s just a beautiful thing to have on the desk. I see desk setups with a standard Windows machine and it does look “ugly” now…. I don’t know how I did it before (but I did, so it’s really not all so bad, just preference).
You are such a snob!
So… I need some help clarifying. When you say that you moved into your new office I know you’re talking about the rental space. But when you talk about breaking in, are you talking about your rental office or your home office?
I’m picturing a cubicle… but do you have more? Mmm… pictures are greatly appreciated
