Fixed MacBook Pro, Trees and Fences

So, I went back to the Apple store about the appearance of the laptop being a refurbished unit. They pretty much replaced it with no questions asked for a new one that was clearly sealed. I feel a lot better about it now. Though I didn’t appreciate one of the “possible reasons it was previously opened”; that they probably opened it to install the latest operating system on it (Leopard) because it probably had an earlier one (Tiger) installed. That would make sense, except that these laptops aren’t even 2 months old; and the picture on the box shows the Leopard OS… so why would it ship with something else? That doesn’t add up, but whatever… they fixed it without any problems.

I went ahead and purchased the AppleCare plan for the MacBook Pro too while I was there. I was going to get it eventually anyway and I figured it would help them feel better about swapping it out. I got the student discount also; cool cool.

I dug up a lot of these plants we had put in last year in the flower bed we created in one of the corners of our yard. They grow very quickly, but they also die too (and kinda start over) which leaves a lot of dead stuff around making it look ugly. It’s really time consuming to pull all the dead stuff out too.

I wanted to pull the Crape Myrtle I had planted in the corner out, because it was getting way too cramped since I planted it too close to the fence. (Though it was just the right size when I put it in a year ago.) So that was a big task; took me about 2 or 3 hours; but it looks great now. I’ll have pictures up on Flickr soon.

The fence on our other neighbors house went up yesterday, and it comes way (way) out past our front porch. It makes things feel really cramped now; it sucks. Especially since they seemed “really” concerned about how far the fence comes out when we built our house. But not so much anymore. Oh well. I’ll have pictures of that too.
