Tough Dirt
So I finally planted the second tree in our backyard. (They’re more like 15′ tall) I’m pretty sure our ground is 1/2″ top soil, 4″ of clay, 12″ of rock hard clay and then some form of regular dirt. The second hole I dug, I soaked 3 times over the last 2 days; and it was still almost impossible to dig out.
But I did it, here they are as you can see. You can view the full sizes if you add me as a friend or family on Flickr. It really makes things feel a little more cozy and personal.
It is HOT outside. The kind of hot where it’s miserable to go anywhere except right below your A/C vents. I dread having to run errands if my car has been in the sun for any amount of time.
Other things are just moving along very quickly. Business is growing faster than I can keep up with; but that’s a good problem to have. I hired out for a redesign of hihowareyou.com which is finished now; I just have to put it to HTML and then get it up and running. So keep an eye out for that. I also bought www.drewforhire.com with plans to use it; though I’m not sure exactly how.
Pam got a raise today at work. Not as much as were were expecting (or hoping); but is it ever I guess? We went ahead and bought the 3 Indiana Jones movies and are going to watch them before we go see the new one in theaters. It’s gonna be good!

Does the tree have room to grow? It looks like it maybe too close to the fence.
Doesn’t digging suck big time? I feel your pain. Congrats on getting it planted, though! What an accomplishment!
I hope that it grows strong Christian roots and grows tall! That way it can shade disabled children on a hot summer day.
($10 if you remember what movie that’s from!)
